Carlos Queiroz, Old Trafford no. 2 has told Cristiano Ronaldo via Portuguese radio station Rádio Renascença that he should stay at United. The reason is because simply Manchester United and everything within the club could give him the every remarkable attention that he deserves.
Queiroz is something of a father figure to Ronaldo at United and was instrumental in keeping the player at Old Trafford in 2006 following his role in Wayne Rooney’s dismissal in that year’s World Cup quarter-final between Portugal and England.
However, when he was asked the possibilities of replacing Big ‘Nose’ Phil at Portuguese national team, that probably also help to determine the winger to stay or to leave Manchester United, he add a sort of like father like son drama to the table:
“I’m not going to put myself in the market,” Queiroz continued. “Because the decision on the national coach should not be a result of those who make themselves candidates, but a decision that is conscious, rational and based on what the Federation judges [believe] is necessary for the team.
“I’m not going to tell you whether or not I’m contacted, that way I know for sure that it will be dealt with in due form and in due place.”
Oh come on boss, don’t let us down.
