The Deadly Macheda

Sir Alex on Federico Macheda:

Macheda is probably the best player going through against the goalkeeper that we have. He is outstanding when he gets in those positions. When he went through I expected him to score.

While Darren Fletcher said:

He’s a natural goalscorer, a finisher in one-on-one situations. He’s a big strong lad for his age. Sometimes that’s a problem for younger players if they are not and that’s why Wayne Rooney coped so well when younger because he was physically capable of doing that. Kiko is similar to that. Nothing seems to faze him. He’s a confident lad – not cocky or arrogant, just confident in his own ability.

We will always remember his goal against Aston Villa at home which probably gave us the title 2 seasons ago. However, the young Italian struggled for fitness last season and disappeared from headlines. Hope he’s fit this season, and show us what he can really do (like this one).

All hail deadly Macheda!
