According to Frank Lampard, Rio Deserve Captaincy

other teams, players February 16th, 2010

Frank Lampard believes Rio Ferdinand deserves his chance to captain England, and so does Rooney (but later)…

”Wayne is our best player, especially at the moment, and he is the one that can really make things happen for us off the cuff. To burden him with it [the captaincy] at that age would have been the manager’s decision, but I think it is a good idea not to.

I think he will be England captain one day for sure. This has brought up a whole talk about England captaincy but you need a few captains on the pitch.”

Some News Ahead of Home Game

internet, players October 28th, 2008

We will face on fire Hammers at home this Wednesday but before we get to that, there are several updates regarding our players:

  1. Wayne Rooney was targeted by his ex fans in Everton. Then he was angry and kiss our club badge. Rumor said that he’s get punished by the FA for that. But today the BBC confirms that he escape the punishment.
  2. Ronaldo won World Player of The Year voted by his football peers and said that Sir Alex is his inspiration. Nice to hear that Ron…
  3. Rio Ferdinand named in World XI players, he’s delighted and has an interview at the Official Site.

Anyhow, there’s a cool 12 o’clock blog post by Steward Gardner from MUTV and i’m amazed how hard to find this particular section in the Official Site. Site navigation at ManUtd.com is so confusing, I had to use site search then given some article excerpts with relevancy percentage results. So 2004. I hope someone could tell the official website team about Google Site Search. It’s only $100 a year for a site with 5.000 pages. The result is so much better… Or, please redesign the site.

See you on Wednesday.

Vote for Manchester United and Rio Ferdinand

club, players October 23rd, 2008

Rio Ferdinand is supposed to be England Captain. But since Senor Capello has pick the slippy Chelsea captain to lead the Three Lions (who was too sick to play for England and play full 90 minutes in The River Side last weekend), that general sentiment is left only for United fans. But Rio got on with it and continue his giving his best service for his country. That shown his leadership ability. In my heart, Rio is the captain.

However, after again snubbed, this time in the Ballon d’Or nominations, Rio Ferdinand is nominated as Sports Leader of the Year by Square Miles Sport Awards.

The club also up in The Sports Team of The Year and Sporting Moment of The Year. In the last category, it was Chelsea’s slippy captain slippery slipped in front of Van Der Sar’s goals which many believe costs his team the Champions League.

Reds in International Matches

players October 12th, 2008

This sort of international match reports will be an occasional report since i’m no fan of international football. However, I couldn’t argue that Manchester United is build by International Players, so when there are international matches, there must me Manchester United players involved. Although i’m no fan of country specific team, because I don’t even support my country football team, it’s always nice to see our players doing well in their country.

I will go into England team later but almost all reds went well yesterday. Evra with France and their idiotic face Domenech pleased with a 2-2- draw after went down 0-2 in 17 minutes. Vidic and the Serbians beat Lithuania 3-0, Johny Evans and Northern Irelands beaten 2-0 by Slovenia, who’s that man from Argentina, Carlos Tevez beat Uruaguay 2-1 with the Argentinians, and Ji Sung Park captained South Koreans to 3-1 victory against Uzbekistan. In other news, Fletcher captained Scotland and lead the team to a 0-0 draw against Norway, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani was also featured in Portugal team at a 0-0 draw against Sweden.

Now, the England won against Kazakhstan. Well, it was a worthy win and the Capello boys had successfully explore the weakness of the Boratz (sorry, it’s a joke. I like Boratz). Rio captained the team and score the opener, Rooney scored 2 goals and one of them was after a nice cross from Wes Brown. Manchester United fan will argue that the night was all about our players, that includes me, however the most talkative moments was the England fans booed Ashley Cole after his mistake that caused a goal by the far weaker opponents.

Rio, the vice captain of England, which I think is a lot worthy than the slippy boy but I won’t take this captaincy issue further, quoted by The Sun:

“It’s disappointing when any player makes a mistake — you want to get behind him and gee him up so he gets back into the game.

“I hope the people who’ve done that will feel a bit ashamed of themselves.”

I hate Ashley Cole. I think he’s a f**k s**t f**k. Perhaps nothing will change my mind except if he’s a Manchester United player. But booing him after a mistake is just moronic. Manchester United fan even cheer for Ronaldo for Christ sake!

But all in all, the lads did well in the weekend and will have one more game before fly back to Carrington and face another Premier League match. I just hope everyone back home in 1 piece because we’re still haunting the trophies and we surely need these superstars.

Come on you Reds!

Rio Ferdinand: Deduct Their Points!

players October 8th, 2008

Rio Ferdinand has urged FIFA to stop talking and start acting to punish clubs which their fans put racism attack on football players. His idea is to deduct the club’s point. Recent case was Emile Heskey at Croatia when the England team beat them 4-1 and Sol Campbell at White Heart Lane. It was so embarrassing.

“They (FIFA – red) make a lot of comments about what they are going to do but they never back up the words with actions.

“Croatia were fined a few thousand quid. What good is that going to do? That is not going to stop people shouting racist or homophobic abuse.

“If things like this keep happening you have to take points off them.

“Then the punters will realise the team is going to be punished.”

Well said Rio!

Wes Brown in a Club Row?

players October 6th, 2008

According to Mirror, Wes Brown was involved in a club row against some cocky businessmen:

The Manchester United defender, 28, allegedly shoved a group of men who were teasing him and his teammates, including Rio Ferdinand.

"They started goading the Man United players. Wes Brown was pushing one of them a lot.

"It was all over without any punches being thrown. No one was hurt. The bouncers ejected two of the other group and the players were able to finish their drinks."

They must be haters. Yeah, beat them up Wesley!
