Manchester United Set to Lift Title #19

Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday left Javier Hernandez with a tear in his eye, the rest of the players jumping around in celebration and Sir Alex Ferguson bowing.

The Red Devils have all-but-won this seasons Premier League title as they extended their lead over Chelsea to 6 points with just two games remaining. Avoiding defeat at Blackburn Rovers next weekend will ensure Manchester United become the most successful side in English league history as they pick up title number 19.

Sir Alex Ferguson has now masterminded an incredible twelfth successful title since taking over in 1986. On May 28th, he will be only the third manager to appear in four European Cup/Champions League finals when he leads his Manchester United side out at Wembley to face Barcelona.

Javier Hernandez and Nemanja Vidic scored the goals that lead the league leaders on their way to success. Manchester United have now won 17 of their 18 Premier League games at Old Trafford this season, dropping points only to West Bromwich Albion. Blackpool are the last team to visit Old Trafford this season; in two weeks time.

10 man United held for a point in White Hart Lane as Rafael sent off in 76th minute. Captain Vida was immense (again) and Carrick was pivotal to our squad. It was a harsh decision for Mike Dean to sent off the young Brazilian like most United supporters say on Twitter, but we always look like going for a draw in the first place.

Spurs was good, credits to them. And I agree with @johnpeavoy on this. It feels like a win!

Oh… We’re back to top of table!

United Aren’t Good Enough to Stay Unbeaten

Ahead of our trip to White Hart Lane, Harry Redknapp wrote at The Sun and he thinks Manchester United won’t last this season unbeaten. Tottenham Hotspurs will be the first team from the big 4 we will face away. It will be hard to get points at their home. Anything could happen. What Redknapp missed though, the other clubs are not that good as well to beat United. So far at least :p

Though remains unbeaten is not the most important thing, but it will be nice to achieve that milestone in our club’s history. It’s getting harder to stay unbeaten in a league as competitive as English Premiere League, but who knows?

On other news, Sir Alex is confident that Van Der Sar, Rooney and Vidic will return for the Spurs match.

Keep the believe. Come on United!

Kiko’s & Vida’s Goals against Villa (Video)

Shitty performances in 80 minutes then suddenly become alive after Villa scored 2 goals. Glad it wasn’t too late to nick a point, but we need more than that if we want to win anything this season. Glad to see Kiko in the score sheet though, also captain Vida. Brilliant from Kiko, Friedel was nowhere near his thunderous and well placed shot!

Nemanja Vidic Agrees New Deal

Great news, Vida is staying:

There was a lot of speculation about Nemanja’s future, but in my view it’s been the media drumming some old stories because they certainly didn’t come out of the Manchester United camp and I’m confident they didn’t come out of Nemanja’s camp.

We sat down with Nemanja and his advisor at the end of last season and started discussions. They broke up when Nemanja went away to the World Cup, but resumed when Serbia were knocked out and I’m very pleased to confirm that we agreed terms with Nemanja three or four weeks ago on a new long-term deal with the club.

It’s yet to be signed – the paperwork is now being sorted by our lawyers and being checked by Nemanja’s advisors. He’s still away on holiday but the plan is that when he gets back the papers will be signed.

He’s a wall of our defense, he’s the key of our double winning year in 2008 (along with Rio, Patrice and Wes), he deserved pay rise. Period.

FA Cup Semi and Some Annoying S**t

We beat Fulham 4-0 at their own backyard to secure this season’s FA Cup semi. Mind you, we did it without Cristiano Ronaldo.

The game was almost went 1 sided except for Jamie Reeves’ pundit opinion (in ESPN Asia) and some miscommunication between Van Der Sar with his central backs early minutes in the first half.

Our goals came from Tevez (2), Rooney and fully deserved Park.

Who we’ll face in Wembley we need to wait for the draw that takes place at 18:45 GMT today. Whomever they be, bring ‘em on!

I don’t know about you, but i am annoyed with these stuffs. I’ve been hearing lately that Milan is targeting Vidic. But today i heard that the Italian giant is also targetting Johny Evans. I know Milan needs world class players to fill those old defender tired legs, but how on earth would they think Vida and Johny will move to a struggling Italian side while they can have more and more silverware at Old Trafford? I don’t get it, what are they thinking?

Anyhow, we’ll face Inter Milan at home this week. If only they can score, they they can make our Champions League night going to hell like he did with Porto. But more on that later.

Nemanja Vidic The Serbian Monster

Nobody in the Premiership can score in the last 12 games to our goal, and most praises go to Van Der Sar. However, Van der Sar has only had to make 19 saves during this scoreless run. It’s obvious that the balls are held before it even get to him. I will agree completely that Nemanja, who also appear along with Van Der Sar in all 12 games deserves credits.

He is a wall, that literally screams NONE SHALL PASS! Thank you Vida, you’re a legend already.

Vidic to Miss San Siro Clash

“Under the chairmanship of Marcel Mathier (Switzerland), the FIFA Disciplinary Committee today reviewed a number of cases and decided upon disciplinary sanctions following the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008.

“Takahiro Futagawa, of Gamba Osaka, following his sending-off in the third place play-off on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for two matches and fined CHF 7,000.

“Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United, following his sending-off during the final of the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for one match and fined CHF 5,000.

“The suspensions will be carried over to the next club competition match(es) at confederation level, as stated in Article 38, par. 2 d) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Both decisions are not subject to appeal.”

The Serbian will be a great miss considering Inter late domestic forms, but at least SAF & the coaching team have enough time to prepare on defending strategy. If we survived without conceeding, we have a great chance to get to the last 8 of Champions League.

Big Win and Record Breakings

We beat 10 man West Brom 5-0 at their home to stay on top of the table. Goals came from Berbatov, Tevez, Vidic and Ronaldo (2). It was fantastic team performance as Tony Mowbray described as ‘in the that mood of passing and moving the ball around’.

I would also like to congratulate Edwin Van Der Sar and the devensive team for breaking Petr Cech record by stay unbeaten for 1.025 minutes, which also set new Premiership record for 11 clean sheets in a row.

However, all records are made to be broken. I hope the team don’t lose their concentration if they conceeded for the first time in any other day. Although it’s a fantastic achievement, knowing that the lads achieve that with different kind of devensive appearance (except Van Der Sar and Vidic whom appear in all 11 matches), in the end, trophies that count.

We’re still in the middle of the season and no trophies won in January. So let’s win more games.

As for the next EPL game, we’ll face Everton, whom Wenger expect to be title contender at Old Trafford. We were held 1-1 at Goodison Park in the first meeting, so perhaps Wenger is right. But, bring ‘em on!
