A 36-year-old carrying the whole team again.
That boy Ronaldo can score and that boy David can save.
This squad – the 2nd most expensive in world football by fee, played for a 1-0. Then they played for a 1-1. They got neither.
I know I don’t write much here in the blog but this time I really don’t feel the need to say anything about this match. That’s it, that’s the post.
We were beaten, not trashed, by a much better side.
They’ve lost Neymar and Cavani but surely they find enough time to setup accordingly for the match at Old Trafford. It was an even game until we lost two crucial members of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s attacking system though: Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial by the end of the first half.
Second half they dominated a bit more and played more effectively because our backup players just weren’t good enough. At the end, we got 1 player red carded, they got zero. They scored two, we scored zero.
It’s probably almost impossible to win the second tie in Paris later next month but we have nothing to lose anyway so maybe we have to just give it a go.
Hope we give them hell. Come on you Reds! 😀
Let me guess: Jose will park the bus to the abyss for this one.
United will be in Group A along with Benfica, Basel, CSKA Moscow.
I don’t think we will find too much trouble getting a way from this group except a visit to Moscow for away game against CSKA Moscow.
Glad to be back to Champions League eh!
The young England defender was definitely one of our top performer last season until that cunt Moreno did what cunts do. What happened next is what we fear worst, that was the last match for our young left-back and he was forced to stay off field to recover a potentially career ending injury for the rest of the season.
To be fair to our previous manager, Luke could’ve saved our season. Maybe not, but I feel that the team never recovered from missing our very best left back that night at Philips Stadion, Eindhoven in a Champions League match.
Luke Shaw made a comeback though. He went straight to the starting eleven at Mourinho’s United and featured at two opening matches this season. He talked to Daniel Taylor at the Guardian about his injury and how the new boss change things around. It’s a really good interview.
I am very happy to see him back.
