If you read BBC and Skysports today, you might find this irritating: “Fergie Defend The Glazers”. What the fuck were Sir Alex thinking? You might say. But if you read, by means really read the articles, i can’t find any Sir Alex’s statements are “defending” the trouble owners.
Plain and straight. He, as well as other Manchester United employees, are talking about their employer. In Sir Alex’s case, the media will make the most of most human beings’ inability to understand article titles with its content.
The debt has come through by the club being bought out by an owner. You know full well that when a business is bought it’s usually bought with debt.
But Manchester United football club, when it went plc, it was always going to be bought. It was inevitable.
So when a particular family like the Glazers have bought it, it’s unfair they come in for criticism because anybody could have bought it.
Means: It was the logic behind the takeover and no club in the world are without debts. And SAF is defending…
“Because it’s a football club it seems to attract a more negative reporting from the media and from the fans.
Means: It’s Manchester United, a big club, people will always find the negative side of the club. SAF is defending…
I have to say they’ve done their job well. They support myself, the manager, they’ve supported the players. I’ve never been refused when I’ve asked for money for a player. So what can I do other than carry on the way we’re doing it and the way I’m allowed to carry on, I’ve no complaints.
He’s happy, he defends no one.
I am not saying the Glazers are perfect nor good, and Sir Alex is not Messiah (though to some extent, He is). Other owners could serve the club better, i mean who knows. But my question is, if the fans has finally buy out the Glazers, would you keep Sir Alex at the club? If so, as an employer, would you like Sir Alex to ‘defend’ you?
In the end of this brouhaha, the media win. Because if they publish something ‘Glazers Defenders’, they get all the pageviews.

@manchestered Where was the Red Knight , when Manchester United PLC ? is that your point ? hmm.. nice point of view
@2eux i am defending Sir Alex’s stance on his employers. CMIIW, Red Knights were made to react to what the Glazers have done to our club.
@manchestered no, i meant .. when was the “Red Knights” or A.K.A buyers when United go Public/ PLC ? .. like this quoted .. part#1
@2eux but at the end, Glazers bought it (& run to current mess). SAF think it’s unfair. Could be anyone, other than Glazers though.
@manchestered exactly what I’m going to says, we must be an objective and try to fair and square to see this issues , harmless for the team
@2eux agreed, mate. glad we hv SAF & his experiences on board. see other clubs w/ off-field problems? total mess…
@manchestered “.. family like the Glazers have bought it, it’s unfair they come in for criticism because anybody could have bought it.” #end
@2eux oh that was SAF’s quote. by means, anyone other than Glazers could’ve bought the club when it went public (w/ its debts).
