Chance to Watch The Game LIVE
SAF, fixtures, premiership February 7th, 2008
The 20 Premier League clubs had reportedly agree to play an extra match abroad. This fixtures can be held at Far East, Australia and USA. Let’s say a Manchester United match with a big opponents like Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea are held in Melbourne. That costs a much cheaper than fans from my country to go to England to watch a single game.
I am not sure the impact to the quality of the league, but it surely brings huge amount of money to the clubs. As oppose, it would be costy to fans abroad but still cheaper. So it will be a win-win situation for abroad fans.
This is awesome. Hope i can have the chance to see United live in SAF era, play a real game for a title, not a ‘friendly match’.
Update (21 February): Apparently the club opposing Premier League plan.

You might get your dream though you’ll have to wait until 2011. But Sir Alex should still be there as I don’t reckon he’ll retire until he has been manager as long as Sir Matt Busby (about 4 more years).
Do you think they’ll fill that massive stadium you have in Melbourne?

Yeah, it’s just the excitement from abroad fans. I still find a way to go to England to watch Manu game anyway. From what i know there are many large stadiums outside England. The thing to concern is their standards for holding a world class Premiere League match.
