Sir Alex Ferguson’s Most Wanted Player

SAF, club October 11th, 2008

Via Press Release & the Official Site.

The campaign’s objective is to unearth young, unsigned talent. It provides a nice insight into Sir Alex’s thoughts on youth development in general and his view on signing players later on in their careers – which should provide young players with hope that their dream of becoming a pro footballer can still be a reality.

Hundreds of young hopefuls tested their skills at seven gruelling trials around the UK in a bid to be selected for an elite squad of 22 and attend a training camp with Sir Alex himself.

On Saturday 11 October, the Most Wanted TV programme airs at 12:00 and 20:00 BST on Sky One. It’s a great chance to see English football’s most successful manager at work and get a glimpse of football’s future in the UK.

My two cents:

I think this initiative is awesome which could be somehow could continue to answer and assess where do these talents go in the future. Who else has more credibility for signing and developing young players beside Sir Alex Ferguson himself?

Hope the credit crunch don’t kill football and this program could continue to spread more outside UK in the future. For example, how about another Ji Sung Park, that not only can sell t’shirt like any other Asian players, but also good football? Or discovering players in third world nations with big football tradition.

But all in all, this is brilliant. I wish i can watch the program.

It’s On! Manchester United - Liverpool Preview

SAF, fixtures, players September 13th, 2008

I’ve said in earlier post, as an outside Manchester’s fan - a South Asian fan for that matter, i past my time as Reds hating Arsenal and lately Chelsea. However, the more i look into the games, the club and its culture, the more i feel the pressure ahead of every Liverpool games (still can’t find how and why i should hate Man City, but it doesn’t matter!).

This time is no different, the rivalries between the two has grown to top in the air this weekend. Benitez is stating a surprise comeback to Kop’s duo Gerrard and Torres, while Sir Alex on his Manager’s Press Conference stated that Hargreaves, Carrick and surprise surprise… Ronaldo is all fit for the Liverpool game at Anfield.

This is a very strange situation, as we can look back several weeks earlier that seems like our games are over, United will not top on anything this season, pundits are writing us off. However, star players are returning to our team and ready to murder everyone in the pitch. We always capable to do that to everyone as i’ve said last year (i’m sure the statement is somewhere within this blog’s archive) that the club itself is the biggest enemy. Not anyone else.

However, whatever i’m saying here in a fan internet journal, whatever haters saying our days are over (to be honest i don’t understand why they keep saying this as every logical person knows that we are super strong), and whatever football pundits say wrong things about the club, Sir Alex is starting to get his main men back.

So eat that haters, as It boost our confident ahead of one of the biggest match it (terms of rivalries) today and i happily wait on whom will make it for starters as our choice of players are growing.

Let Sir Alex do that for us, we, the fucking fans can hold our breath. Until then, at the Anfield.

Come on you Reds!

Drawn with Kaizer Chefs, SAF Hit Back at Levy

SAF, match results, players, premiership July 20th, 2008

Manchester United drawn 1-1 against Kaizer Chefs, yesterday at Vodacom Challenge in South Africa. Young Chris Eagles scored the equalizer in the 59th minute.

On other news, Sir Alex had hit back to Spurs’ boss Daniel Levy:

It will be “very embarrassing” for Tottenham if they decide to carry out their threat to report Manchester United to the Premier League. But you know what Daniel Levy is like. He’s different.

Sir Alex maintains he never mentioned anyone by name when he revealed they had tabled a bid for a player.

Ferguson claims his remarks were misreported by a national newspaper and that United may now bring in their legal team.

Ha ha Levy.

The Boss: Ronaldo Will Stay

SAF, news July 19th, 2008

Quick update:

  1. Reported by Manchester Evening News (i don’t buy other newspaper on this), Sir Alex Ferguson has met with the Portuguese winger. The boss is firmly believe that Reds no. 7 will play in Red Uniform (oh no, that away kit is terrible…!) next year.
  2. Patrice Evra has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following the post-match brawl that marred the Premier League clash at Chelsea in April.
  3. SAF also confirmed the club’s bid for Dimitar Berbatov.
  4. Hargreaves injured and was out of list for the club’s Africa pre-season tour, but believed to be fit for the start of next season.

I guess these news are good news. I can go to sleep now.

Ooopss… i almost forget, EAT THAT REAL MADRID!

Thank God SAF is Back to Work

SAF July 13th, 2008

Manchester United has just finished their first pre-season game in a near sell-out crowd of 20,500 turned up for the testimonial game in honour of the Aberdeen side that won the European Cup Winners’ Cup 25 years ago in Gothenburg when Ferguson was manager at Pittodrie.

The team won 2-0 thanks to Carrick’s first half penalty and Wayne Rooney’s header.

In not so football related news, Pele slammed the modern slavery defined by FIFA boss echoed by Busby Babe Albert Scanlon, who at his peak earns $25 a week. However, when Sir Alex who is not in a hurry to find replacement for his no. 2, asked what he think about the Bladder, he simply answered,

No, we’re here to talk about football.

I’m so glad to see we’re back to play football the Manchester United way, thank God Sir Alex is back at work.

Top Fixtures Ahead of Reds

SAF, fixtures, news, other teams June 16th, 2008

Some quick updates.

I don’t watch the European Cup because by far i feel i don’t have to. I do watch the France demolition of Edwin’s Orange 4-1, which i tip to beat Portugal if both team has ever meet at later stage. Dude Holland rocks. But by far that’s the only game i watch. Maybe i will watch more game later as the competition has heaten up to reach the quarter final. I don’t know, let’s see if i can find the time (it’s later night here in Bali).

Anyhow next season EPL fixtures is already out. Reds will open the game against Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle, then followed by 2 last season’s big four teams away from OT in the first 5 games.

In other news, you might want to check these news; SAF to quit Reds if The Glazers sell Ronaldo without his permission and we have the chance to lose Queiroz to Portugal national team. Then who will manage the team then? Well, Big Phil can do it if the price is right, as his appointment as being the next Chelski boss has set him to buy everyone. Also, after losing his regular left back spot at Reds to become first choice at Real Madrid, Gabriel Heinze has become unreal.

Anyway, find next season’s full fixtures here. It’s tough, we can’t afford a kind of last year’s slow start.

Come on you reds.

Let Ronaldo Go

SAF, other teams, players, stupidity June 6th, 2008

Ronaldo has reportedly refuse to speak with our boss whom cut short his holiday to fly to Swiss to talk with Portuguese winger after long staggering season that ends with double silverware. This might triggered by SAF’s comment in the media lately that he prefer to see Ron’s rot than to sell him to Real Madrid. I do think it’s rude but i guess it’s pointed to Roman Pinnochio Calderon instead of Ron.

However, I think this is ridiculous. How can a player and his manager (read: his mentor) speak each other through media when they have the opportunity to speak face to face? I think SAF (with a great help of Queiroz) ) was the one who help the lad to be the best player in the world for encouraging him to stay at a great football team after he tinker Wayne Rooney at last World Cup. Damn, how can he do that to SAF?

Eventhough noone seems to see him talk with live audience as evidence to his words, but his ‘the future you’ll never know’ (i saw him saying that over and over again in live TV) attitude has made me lost my appetite.

This is Manchester United Blog not Cristiano Ronaldo blog, and i’m a Man Utd fan with or without Ronaldo. Deep down my heart, even if i still want to see Ron in Reds next season (of course, he’s the best player in the planet goddammit), but if he goes, i sincerely hope that we can meet Real Madrid in the next Champions League and beat them.

Let him go while there’s Real Madrid who stupid enough to pay that huge amount of money to the lad. Let him gets richer for a while and regret his decision when he gets older. Let’s buy more future Ronaldos and win more titles. Then the Reds legacy goes on, as the best football club in the world.

Thoughts on The Kings of Europe

champions Thoughts on The Kings of Europe

I was tempted not to post anything after the Champions League win. Soon after the game finished, i browsed around the world wide web, reading all those beautiful coverage of the Kings of Europe. You know, you think you have it ‘enough’.

I watched the game LIVE on TV anyway so i don’t discover anything new, which include:

  1. Chelsea players didn’t feel to lose. Hold on. Yo blues. Do you read the text in the medal you received carefully. Does it written that you were the winners? Hah?.
  2. The haters is already talking about next year. Next year is going to be ours, we’ll beat you blah blah blah. Dude. They think they are the only ones who have next year plans. Yeah see you next year, but now it’s all about Reds.

Dude, the feeling to see the win was fantastic, even though it’s all the same stories. In the last 24 hours, it’s all about Manchester United in about everywhere. World wide web, TV, papers; name it.

However, one of the best thing of having a blog and blog about what i love, is that i am able to use the posts to discover what i do, including my past, present and future feelings. It’s a cool way to remembering the good time and bad times. It’s more likely to be a personal journal, that anyone else in the world with internet connection, can also read. So, i decide to post some of my thoughts.

Here we go. The Final Of Champions League 2007-2008; Manchester United VS Chelsea.

Whatever…

First things first; the bad things.

  1. Important lad that was missing in the cloud of Reds: Ji Sung Park. You’re another unsung hero!
  2. Ronaldo’s statement regarding his future. He’s an egoistic maniac and totally ruin the party. I don’t think he will ever change. He’s the same lad who ask the referee to card Rooney at the World Cup. I bet Tevez will score more goals if he leaves! But, let’s leave it to Sir Alex.
  3. That Ivorian thug, who again had his clashes with Vidic whom successfully kept him under his pocket throughout the game. Drogba, you’re a fucking idiot!
  4. I don’t understand why, when shots that hit the post labeled as ‘unlucky’. Here’s my thought on that. The shots are just not good enough that it don’t end at the goal. So to me it’s not unlucky, it’s not good enough. Period.’

Now the good part. The F***ing Win. Yesss!

Oh man the game was freaking tight. I watch the first goal with pride. You know, it’s good to see Wesley Brown can finally pass the ball ‘right’ on such important occassion, and that boy Ronaldo finished it off with style. His first goal against Chelsea. Several minutes after the goal, Reds find it hard to stop bombing the blue side of the pitch. It was maginificent long pass from Rooney after dispossessing a Chelsea striker passed through the right foot of Ronaldo. He then passed it right to Tevez followed by the awesome move by the big Chelsea goal keeper. However the clearance ball from Chelsea defender was only as far as Carrick that shot and only the great reflect of Cech keep Chelsea stays on the game. Came late at the first half, an equaliser came after Essien shot, which bounces from Vidic and Ferdinand, that lead the ball to unmarked Lampard. Edwin Van Der Sar slipped in the vital moment, another Chelsea ugly goal came, 1-1!

The second half, Chelsea played like a different team. But we have our chances and our defensive players were just wonderful.

The game went to extra time. As always, extra times are just awful for me. It was 20 tired lads running around to chase 1 ball that moves around the pitch. Nervy, as Chelsea have their moments. But again we passed it well. However, Giggsy almost brings us Champions League title early, after super cool run by Evra, but Terry’s super reflect header was awesomely denied the United legend to score his first Champions League final goal.

In the end, after no signs of a winner, penalty shoot out was even worst. I felt like i was going to pee in my pant everytime another Reds took on penalty. However, Ronaldo failed penalty was covered by Terry’s miss. He had the chance for glory, but weirdly enough, the score were back levelled. The next taker was Giggsy. He brought Chech the wrong way. He score. Level! Then there came the decisive moment, when Nicholas ‘the always rejecting Reds’ Anelka step up to the ball, only to be denied our own EDWIN VAN DER SAR.

That’s it. We’re crowned. The Champions of Europe.

Oh yeah you Reds!

Thoughts on The Kings of Europe

Miscelaneous Cristiano Ronaldo

SAF, legend, players May 18th, 2008

This has just in to my feed reader after hours ago TeamTalk reported that United legend Sir Bobby Charlton slams Real Madrid for unethical manner and adamant that the Portuguese will stay at Old Trafford.

Here’s what Sir Bobby said:

“It really irritates me how people can set rumours going and undermine people through the media. It’s unethical.

“Everybody seems to think that Real Madrid or Barcelona are the two greatest clubs in the world. I don’t think I have to tell Cristiano that Manchester United is the biggest club in the world.”

Now here’s what SkySport reports that the winger has hinted that he will stay at the club:

“The boss is the reason I am here in the club,” Ronaldo - who joined United in 2003 in a £12million move from Sporting Lisbon - said in the News of the World.

“He helped me a lot, not just this season but the seasons before.

Now what Ramon Calderon, you want to lure Sir Alex too? F**K OFF!

Whatever that means, will continue to confuse me. But surely we can trust Sir Alex.

Now come on you reds, let’s beat Chelsea and win the Champions League!

 Miscelaneous Cristiano Ronaldo

So to forget, We’re Through to The Last 8!

SAF, Thoughts, champions league March 7th, 2008

I’ve been a self employed for about a month and since i quit my daily job to become a full time internet entrepreneur i keep building websites. That keep me busy that i don’t update this blog so much lately. The good thing about working at home is that i have more flexible working time and am loving it.

Since the time difference between Europe and the place where i live, in my corporate working days, i keep passing LIVE games. But now, since i can work in more free time, i watch almost ALL European football game. I even watch UEFA cup game which i never did.

So that is the good news. Now back to Manchester United. I agree that SAF was tinkering instead of being one of tactical genius in footbal. But with that performance display by the lads, are we sure we’re eyeing treble this season?

I know. We won ugly and a win is a win and maybe my thoughts influenced by spectacular win by the gooners at San Siro, which was any other English clubs hasn’t done as yet (Arsenal? English club?) and Chelsea’s embarrassment of Fenerbahce. But don’t you think it was a bad team selection?

Since this has been going for a while, I am now believe, i can expect to see this ‘tactical genius’ applied to our future games.

Reds Fans be ready to not take things too seriously. Oh i almost forget. We are through to the last 8 of the 2008-2009 Champions League.

Reds Marching stronger than ants.
