David Beckham should celebrate goal against Manchester United

legend, other teams, players February 13th, 2010

His friend Clarence Seedorf says so. Go ahead Becks, i don’t care.

Louis Saha is a Red

heroes, legend February 12th, 2010

He said:

“I’d love to say Everton are going to win the league but obviously that’s not going to happen. Chelsea are very strong but I think United are better, and personally I would be delighted if they won it.

I still keep in touch with a lot of them from United, especially Patrice Evra. Wayne Rooney and Owen Hargreaves are on the phone a lot, and they’ve got a really good bunch of guys.

But I will probably have more messages and calls than ever after this result [the 2-1 triumph over Chelsea]. Our win was a big boost for United but the main thing has to be Everton, and taking us as high up the table as possible.”

There’s no way he’ll favor us on our visit to Goodison park next weekend. At the top of his game, Saha is scary. Hope our defender can cope with his pace. But as United fan, THANK YOU SAHA FOR YOUR GOALS AGAINST JOHN TERRY THE RENT BOYS! :D

Sir Alex Tribute to Sir Bobby Robson

SAF, legend September 22nd, 2009

Sir Alex related Links and Some Other Goodness

SAF, legend, players, premiership March 6th, 2009

I found this rare emotional interview of Sir Alex at The Sun titled I’m Scared to Quit Football. Some excerpts:

“Three things can make me stop. 1. My health. 2. If I don’t take pleasure any more. 3. If I don’t have the strength for new challenges any more.

“Today, I am playing the penalty shoot-out of my managerial career. I know that. The rest is decided between me and me.

On leading star players:

“I want them to think of the history of their family. To carry the values of their class. Being from the working class today is facing a world full of technology and comfort that you can’t afford.”

He also mention how Sir Bobby Robson is the perfect example of a football coach, some comments on Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo illustrious career at Manchester United, and Van Der Sar kisses all his team-mates when he beat the unbeaten record for a goalkeeper.

Take a look by yourself the full interview here. Sir Alex is a Total Legend.

On other SAF’s news, he confirmed that he support the idea of home-produced players proposing by FIFA. He said:

“All countries should get round a table and agree that you should not lose the impact of youth on your club. You need to bring them through a system and you need to give them their opportunity.

“If you don’t all the money spent on youth academies is a waste of time. You must encourage development in your own football club.”

Please educate me if i’m wrong. Mancunians can and will always say they support their childhood club, as Manchester United is their local club. As an international Manchester United fan, I don’t know the ‘exact feeling’ of seeing local lads gets their opportunity to shine in their home club, in a club with global appeal as massive as Manchester United.  Although, the more i learn about the history of our club, the more i appreciate that.

Mind you, I don’t watch World Cup football because i don’t know which team i support, so i’m a bit frustrated to hear this idea at heart. I’m afraid we will lose some of its magic if Blatter and his gang finally secure ’six-plus-five’ proposal. To local club is the pride and the long term wealth, to the same old Blatter it’s politic. I don’t know man, i hate that guy and that prick Platini. So i am bias towards his ideas…

But hey, in Sir Alex i trust…

On some other goodness, Terry Venables hails Nemanja Vidic as his Player of The Year, and our own Ryan Giggs as the runner up. While Johny Evans is his favorite Young Player of The Year.

That’s it for now, see you on upcoming FA 6th round. It’s Craven Cottage and Fulham is brilliant at home this season. With all due respect to the home side performance, I expect a bumpy ride. But i am confident enough to say we can pass them tonight. Sorry.

Reds army marching on!

Giggsy To The Rescue

legend, match results February 8th, 2009

Brilliant goal from Ryan Giggs sees the Champions top of the table with a game in hand after beating West Ham 1-0 at Upton Park. The back four and Edwin Van Der Sar also sets the new standard in Premier League by extending the clean sheet to 13 games.

Below Giggsy’s rare right foot goal, enjoy before corporate EPL kills it off.

Come on you Reds!

Interview with Eric The King

He loves photography and prefer to photograph world Dictator’s before footballer. And he support United, all his life, and he will die with United at heart. The King!

Sir Alex Tops The Times Power 100

SAF, award, legend January 24th, 2009

Following the money would have led us to an Arab sheikh. Or a man in a suit controlling sport from his seat behind a desk. But this has not been a rich list. It is The Times Power 100 and, among our criteria, we have measured the power to put bums on seats, to stir our emotions, to shape events.

The Times also mention how Benitez failed will always find it hard to deal with the most powerful people on British sport (ummm… well it’s too obvious) and also how Sir Alex opposes the idea of 39th game, which was built because of the popularity of his club in other part of the world, that ended killing the proposal. Oh, he also top Manchester City’s Arab owner. Well, it’s not news anyway.

More on Times Power Power 100 here, I gotta go watch the FA cup game…

Thank you Sir Alex!

Peter Schmeichel Goals

legend December 14th, 2008

He can score cool goals.

Jaap Stam Back to United

legend October 11th, 2008

It was a shocking news when Jaap Stam, United’s best defender, that took years for Sir Alex to replace (ever heard of Rio Ferdinand?), criticizing Sir Alex and his team mates in his autobiography. It took only several weeks for the club to sell him to AC Milan. However, according to Daily Mail, the two made up their relationship and back working together.

Jaap Stam has made a surprise return to Manchester United as a talent-spotter looking for the next Brazilian superstar. Stam was in Porto Alegre this week to watch a youth-team match between Internacional and Ceramica.

It’s always nice to see our ex players continue to work for the club at different role. There are life beyond football player at Manchester United.

Boss: Ronaldo Can Leave… As a Hero

legend September 24th, 2008

It’s nice to see Sir Alex say so and further tell the lad to learn from King Cantona:

"I think Cristiano has come to accept that at this stage of his career, United is the place for him," said the Red Devils boss.

"Southern Europeans want at some point to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, so I understood what was going on in Cristiano’s mind when he declared he wanted to join Real.

"But once we had talked he accepted it was a move for the future.

"I pointed out to him how much better it would be to leave like Eric Cantona, with the fans loving and appreciating him.

"The crowd still chant Cantona’s name and I told Cristiano ‘Leave a hero like Eric’ and one day he will. But not yet."

Question: What about other Latins/Southern European players’ future in Manchester United?
