The Official Site Online Membership Updates
Official, cool site June 3rd, 2008
I don’t really check to Manchester United Official Website regularly because i’m a busy dude and they don’t offer syndication feeds. But when i checked the site today, i notice some changes in free Membership pages starting by Have You Checked the Details? at the main navigation and a LOG OUT button.
Members can now update their account details in 4 steps. However, what’s new is the last step option which is to opt in or out to Ticket News (i opt out), (new), MUTV newsletter, MU Foundation newsletter (new). Then the bottom of those offers, there are options as members can choose to subscribe (no subscribe as default) to offers from MU business group as related to their Privacy Policy.
Damn it’s a cool web design i must say, but it would be better if they start to syndicating their content for free, you know, the web 2.0. style. Flash is darn cool but offering (free or even paid) syndicated feeds is cooler.
Anyway, have you checked your details? Here.

Cool Plugin for Football Blogger
cool site, internet May 23rd, 2008
This is useful for those who:
- Will blog about European Championship next month.
- Blog about Football using Wordpress.
There’s a Wordpress plugin name WP-Championship, which is a plugin for letting you play a guessing game of a tournament or championship e.g. soccer.
Some features:
- Define number of groups, and points given to the winner, looser
- of each match
- Define teams and a team specific icon
- Define matches finalround and pre-final round
- For each user you can set a substitute
- Sends mails about current game status (if wanted)
- Define game admin to edit match results
- Shows some stats for admin and users
- Sql for the EM2008 championship in sitzerland and austria
This may sounds dumb but i haven’t try it. Why?
- I am not going to watch Euro 2008. No England team, no use to watch Euro.
- The plugin homepage is written in German. I don’t understand.
However, if you see the features, this plugin can be useful to gain community and readership for your football blog right?
So here’s the download link, and here’s the plugin homepage.

Got this from compete.com.
Another analytics result which shown that Manchester United’s official site is the most famous and has more traffic than the other Big 4 official site at the Premier League. This analytics shown people count to the 4 official sites. Compete triangulates multiple data sources, including ISP, Panel & Toolbar to estimate U.S. traffic.
Permanent link to this analytics is here. You can analyze from different point of view to make comparisons to the big 4 official sites.

Manchester United Blog in Google Search
blog, cool site September 10th, 2007
The news about Manchester United is really thin and this week becomes thinner. I tried to changed my view on the reds, try to have fun from different angle.
So i went to Google Blog Search, search the blog world using Manchester United keyword. The result looked like this:
Then i used Google Web Search using keyword Manchester United Blog and the result looked like this:
Both search led me to a same winner; James Ryddel’s A Kick In The Grass. I’m a big fan of James, so I’m glad he’s the winner.
I also put some new links to some other cool Manchester United blogs that i read. It’s my view, but i believe you will like it too.
Cheers!

The Reds at Google Trends
cool site September 9th, 2007
Are we loosing our internet appeal or maybe we’re that famous already that fans all around the world is not looking for the reds at the Search Engine?
I went to Google Trends today comparing the popularity between Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. It’s a bit shocking to me the first time seeing the result that the reds are way beyond the 3 other big four on the internet in terms of internet search.
The ALL TIME graph looks like this:
Then i tried another option, sorting the trends based on time, in 2007 the graph looked like this:
And the 2006 look like this:
So i came into hypotetical conclusion as below:
1. We never been more famous than the other 3 clubs even when we won the Premiere League.
2. Most of our fans don’t search our favorite club in the internet, or, manutd.com is enough famous already. I keep remembering that MUTV often mentioned that the official site was picked as the best website in the premiere league (I’m not sure on what period).
The original Google Trends page is here.
