Sir Alex Ferguson’s Most Wanted Player

SAF, club October 11th, 2008

Via Press Release & the Official Site.

The campaign’s objective is to unearth young, unsigned talent. It provides a nice insight into Sir Alex’s thoughts on youth development in general and his view on signing players later on in their careers – which should provide young players with hope that their dream of becoming a pro footballer can still be a reality.

Hundreds of young hopefuls tested their skills at seven gruelling trials around the UK in a bid to be selected for an elite squad of 22 and attend a training camp with Sir Alex himself.

On Saturday 11 October, the Most Wanted TV programme airs at 12:00 and 20:00 BST on Sky One. It’s a great chance to see English football’s most successful manager at work and get a glimpse of football’s future in the UK.

My two cents:

I think this initiative is awesome which could be somehow could continue to answer and assess where do these talents go in the future. Who else has more credibility for signing and developing young players beside Sir Alex Ferguson himself?

Hope the credit crunch don’t kill football and this program could continue to spread more outside UK in the future. For example, how about another Ji Sung Park, that not only can sell t’shirt like any other Asian players, but also good football? Or discovering players in third world nations with big football tradition.

But all in all, this is brilliant. I wish i can watch the program.

Glazer Family The Unsung Heroes?

club August 8th, 2008

There’s an interesting talk in EPLTalk about the conclusion of Ronaldo saga that haunted around the world of football between June - August.

About an unlikely heroes, which is the Glazer Family.

From the post:

The American owners could have easily taken the money and run. The transfer fee would have been enormous. The player would have been pleased to leave, and many fans would have said good riddance. Despite this, the Glazers stood firm and refused to allow the player to leave, focusing on the player’s contract and even going against the wishes of FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

Will We Lose Queiroz?

club, coach July 7th, 2008

The signs are not good. I do tip him to succeed SAF but apparently the offer to coach Portuguese National Team is too appealing to him. However no indication whatsoever that the club will give him the place for SAF as soon as he retired so noone can be blame.

The press has his famous quotes (taken from the Official Site):

“At this moment it is out of my hands. It needs to be resolved between the federation and Manchester United and until then we have to wait calmly. I have spoken to both parties and now I am waiting for some kind of movement.”

Things are getting more complicated because i think because of his touch and blend the team with new talent, skills and tactics, we can rule Europe last year.

Losing him is a big problem. It’s not good. At least for a short term.

Bayern Chief back SAF

club, other teams, players June 25th, 2008

Despite the tension that rose between Manchester United and Bayern Munich in case of Owen Hargreaves last year, the chairman of German giants, Karl Heinz Rummenigge has reportedly slams the way that Spanish club’s effort to lure Ronaldo away from Old Trafford.

Furthermore the German boss said:

“This is a situation that only concerns Manchester United, but I would like to see Ronaldo stay at the club for the benefit of everyone.”

“I am not worried about the case because the rules are clear and Manchester United has a very strong contract with the player for the next four years,” he said.

“Besides, I know enough about Alex Ferguson to know that if he says no, then that means no.

Like one of reader comments, i also starting to like the Germans :D.

Oh, in other news. I think ex Reds ’sold and failed’ Paul Ince should concentrate on his new job rather than thread useless comments to the press about his ex club.

I’ll Forgive Ronaldo

Support, Thoughts, club, players, stupidity June 25th, 2008

I don’t care if the lads say his heart and his mind is in Real Madrid. The fact is, he is a Manchester United player. I’m seeing the trend goes among the fans hating him. Well i do hate him until this sane morning, after 12 hours of sleep.

What i see when i’m sane is not only Reds fans are starting to hate him so much, i see the trend THAT THE ENEMIES ARE ALSO URGES HIM TO LEAVE MANCHESTER UNITED. So i begin to realize that this trend is actually shit. This is a general effort to weaken the European and English Champion before the new season begin.

See? The rumour said that SAF will leave OT if The Glazers sell Ronaldo, then Queiroz linked with Portugal National Team, David Gill is in Arsenal’s wish list, Ronaldo and Real Madrid. Then the Big nose Phil starting his job early as Chelsea coach by advising the lad to leave Reds and his lack of concentration of the game but on his new bank account, cost Portugal out of Euro very early, then all football pundit and Reds enemy bullshit try to get their hands to this crisis.

What will be the reason that we will start as a strong team next season and have all the chances to retain our title and win even more? WE NEED A STRONG TEAM. Last year’s champions team plus some more players to even strengthen the team. That strong team must include Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s in the agenda.

We have the chance to beat everyone we meet and our enemies know that. They want us weak and they’re laughing so hard to see the mess we are going through.

So fuck you enemies, i want Ronaldo to stay. I’ll forgive him, as long as he scores a lot of goals and help us to win more trophies! Come on Ronaldo, please stay. After this upcoming season, if you want to leave, and as long as SAF letting you go, then go. Now please enjoy your vacation then back to Manchester and let’s beat all motherfuckers.

Come on you Reds, let’s win even more!

United No. 2: Ronaldo Should Stay

club, coach, players June 24th, 2008

Carlos Queiroz, Old Trafford no. 2 has told Cristiano Ronaldo via Portuguese radio station Rádio Renascença that he should stay at United. The reason is because simply Manchester United and everything within the club could give him the every remarkable attention that he deserves.

Queiroz is something of a father figure to Ronaldo at United and was instrumental in keeping the player at Old Trafford in 2006 following his role in Wayne Rooney’s dismissal in that year’s World Cup quarter-final between Portugal and England.

However, when he was asked the possibilities of replacing Big ‘Nose’ Phil at Portuguese national team, that probably also help to determine the winger to stay or to leave Manchester United, he add a sort of like father like son drama to the table:

“I’m not going to put myself in the market,” Queiroz continued. “Because the decision on the national coach should not be a result of those who make themselves candidates, but a decision that is conscious, rational and based on what the Federation judges [believe] is necessary for the team.

“I’m not going to tell you whether or not I’m contacted, that way I know for sure that it will be dealt with in due form and in due place.”

Oh come on boss, don’t let us down.

Reds Campaign Against Drunk Driving in Asia

business, club June 20th, 2008

Manchester United launched a two-year partnership with an international drinks company, Diageo, for one (unsure which one) of its brands in Asia Pacific.

The partnership between two parties will be activated with a  “Spirit of Champions” campaign theme later this September. The campaign will be launched in six key Asian markets, which include China, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. This program will try to reflect the behaviour and determination required, to stay top of the game and simply to be the best. Moreover, it’s also said that Manchester United strongly supported the use of the sponsorship as a platform for responsible drinking.

Well. Responsible drinking is important, especially if you drink one of those Diageo brands. You could feel awesome :D.

Can find this nowhere in both parties’ official site but there are news at Daily Express Malaysia, Yahoo! Malaysia and a Google search result.

Anderson Injured and New Away Kit

club, players June 19th, 2008

Brazillian Reds Star Anderson has reportedly injured himself in a 0-0 draw with Carlo Tevez’s Argentina World Cup Qualifying draw. No details posted as yet but this can put misery at the start of next year’s huge list of campaigns that Manchester United will be competing. Hope he get well soon, i tip him to get at least the Young PFA next year.

In other news, Manchester United has revealed the new away kit. The color is white and blue which is not my favorite, and it makes the red triangle at the shirt neck looks weird. I like the black away uniform better than this one, but you can make your choice yourself as it’s already available at United Direct.

Don’t Forget, We’re Champions!

club June 19th, 2008

Woot!

I almost forget that we’re Champions of England and Europe. How many England clubs can achieve that in a season? However, Ronaldo saga has made this reds’ life terrible. I can’t even watch the replay matches at MUTV while mostly i watch almost all Reds games several times, whether it’s LIVE or the replays. That sucks.

Now shall we forget about the unsettled boy because i am now believe he will always be unsettled, no matter what we achieve, no matter what he achieve. Of course as a fan i can forgive Ronaldo because he has done so much to our team, but the future you’ll never know.

As a team and as a club, which is the most important, Manchester United is the Champions of Europe and England, and we can forget about Treble because we will compete in 7 fronts next season.

Oh last season, what a season. Check out this post by Republic of Mancunia, it’s the reason why we should forget about Ronaldo the future you’ll never know boy (i still hope the Germans can beat Portugal, i want to see him and his coach cry!!).

Come on you Reds!
