champions league April 16th, 2009

We’re through to the Semi Final Champions League thanks to Ronaldo’s super screamer and the overall defensive plays (welcome back Rio!).

Bring on Gooners, come on United!

Champions League Round-Ups

champions league April 10th, 2009

It wasn’t the best performance by the lads, as they always do lately. Although we’re ‘beaten’ (considering the away goal rules at the Champions League) at home 2-2, we still have the chance to pass to the semi at Porto’s playground next week. Although i must admit, it’s a huge task to ask.

As a good reading, Republik of Mancunia rounds our season so far in term of fixtures, and here’s the brilliant part which all United fans should aware of:

However, it’s nice to see that in the four games more than Arsenal, the five games more than Chelsea, and the six games more than Liverpool, we’ve lifted two more trophies already.

Yeah. Our season is not that bad. We still have more to go and more to get. Premiere League trophy will be the coolest, but adding FA Cup and Champions League to our trophy cabinet will not that bad (of course haha).

On other games in the Champions League, the sometimes confidence but mostly cracking up kop beaten at home by Chelsea 1-3 (lol), while Barcelona massacre Bayern 4-0 at the Nou Camp. Now that is scary.

Now let’s move on. Our next game is Sunderland away at the Premier League. A win will sweeten our weekends for sure. Let’s do it lads, let’s win this game.

Come on United!

Champions League Draw

champions league March 21st, 2009

The Reds are drawn against Porto. No Reds will forget self proclaimed special one dancing at Old Trafford when they equalized in the final minute that later become European Champions. Anyway, we will face opponents both in quarter, and if we pass, the semis at home in the first leg. Potential opponents in the semis are Arsenal or Villareal. Bring them on.

In other part of the draws, there comes favorites Barcelona against strong Germany side Bayern Munchen, while 2 other English sides Chelsea and Liverpool faces each other. Whatever.

Good draws indeed.

Anyways, Fulham is next in the EPL this weekend. Time to forget last weekend’s lost and retain the EPL medal. Remember we’re the reigning Champions, 4 points clear and a game in hand against the nearest enemy.

Come on United!

The Not So Special One Going Home Beaten

champions league March 13th, 2009

It wasn’t the best performance but if i had to choose, i’d rather win ugly than dominating but failed to score.

In my view, the much hyped game last night wasn’t as classic as media predicted. Although it was actually nervy at times seeing our veteran midfielder, Paul Sholes, often misspasses. However, early 1st half goal from Vidic gave me huge relieve and the rest was history. You can read complete match report at the official site.

There’s also a special Manager’s Column in the official site where SAF explains what happened at the Inter game. You need to log in to One United to read the new news feature.

After beaten, the not so special one seems like lost his patient.

Next game is Liverpool at home this weekend, bring on the bastards!

Come on United!

Vidic to Miss San Siro Clash

world champion red carded1 Vidic to Miss San Siro Clash

From FIFA:

“Under the chairmanship of Marcel Mathier (Switzerland), the FIFA Disciplinary Committee today reviewed a number of cases and decided upon disciplinary sanctions following the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008.

“Takahiro Futagawa, of Gamba Osaka, following his sending-off in the third place play-off on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for two matches and fined CHF 7,000.

“Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United, following his sending-off during the final of the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for one match and fined CHF 5,000.

“The suspensions will be carried over to the next club competition match(es) at confederation level, as stated in Article 38, par. 2 d) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Both decisions are not subject to appeal.”

The Serbian will be a great miss considering Inter late domestic forms, but at least SAF & the coaching team have enough time to prepare on defending strategy. If we survived without conceeding, we have a great chance to get to the last 8 of Champions League.

Come on you Reds!

Manchester United Drawn Inter Milan

champions league, fixtures December 19th, 2008

We’ll face Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan in Champions League quarter final. We’ll play the first leg away from home at the San Siro on either Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 February. The return leg will be at Old Trafford on either Tuesday 10 or Wednesday 11 March.

Here’s how Sir Alex relishing Jose reunion.

Bring it on Inter Milan!

Man Utd 3 – Celtic 0

champions league, match results October 23rd, 2008

I thought I posted this already. Heck. So you probably know already that Berbatov scored 2 and Wayne Rooney scored 1 right?

Ok. I must admit. I didn’t watch the match. I was in a transition of changing cable TV provider. So i have to watch the game through local free TV which is SUCK!

Yes it sucks because of the following reasons:

  1. They didn’t broadcast our Champions League game against Celtic last night. Instead, they play Juventus vs Real Madrid game. Call me bias, but how could they pick to broadcast a game which anticipated by (maybe, the stadium was so dark from my TV) only third half full home crowd. They picked that instead of full pack Old Trafford. How moronic is that. Well they must have reasons anyway. Probably stupid reasons. But I don’t know.
  2. They dubbed the commentary with local language. Ahh… you just don’t want to know how awful they sounds. They try hard remembering player names… I mean, it’s a national TV. The biggest.

Anyway. It’s nice to see (yes i saw the goals through internet) Wayne Rooney’s goals keep rolling and new boy Berbatov also keep him in the score sheet. The nicest thing, despite rumors that he’s unhappy, was Carlos Tevez provide a pass to Rooney for our third goal. Tevez is God from Argentina.

So, we continue our unbeaten run in the Champions League to 16 games. However, like Sir Alex said, records are made to be broken. I just hope that when it comes the time, the timing is not that bad. In the meantime, of course we have a great chance to retain our European crown.

Come on you Reds.

Manchester United in Group E Champions League 2008/2009

champions league, fixtures August 29th, 2008

The European Champions will start the campaign to retain their European title in Group E. There’s no AS Roma this year, instead we will be at the same group with Villarreal, Celtic and Aalborg.

While i don’t know much of Denmark’s Aalborg, Celtic is the champions of Scottish Premier League and Villareal was 2nd in the Spanish League last season. Celtic once beat us in the UCL campaign, while ex reds Giuseppe Rossi is the bomber at Villareal.

However, i don’t think we will face too many difficulties to pass the group stage although surprises will always a possibility. It’s the Champions League for God sake (even John Terry slips :D ).

But at least now the coaching team know who the lads will face in the UCL and concentrating all efforts to get our injured players back on the field to bring back our usual winning way.

It’s time for Zenit St Petersburg in Monaco on Friday at the UEFA Super Cup, we need to get the win for our 2nd ‘trophy’ of the season.

Come on Campiones!

Rooney Blows for United

champions league, news, players, premiership August 6th, 2008

It’s late night here in Bali and i’m just waking up with a big headache, but i think i found some important updates down here.

Rooney might be out injured, while Anderson serving Brazil is at the Olympics, Nani serve his suspension and Ronaldo is still in recovery after his ankle injury. Sure we have Tevez, Carrick, Sholesy, Giggs, Hargo and everyone else at the team but the first game of 08/09 game is very near. It’s not a comfortable news though since we’ll face Juventus for the last pre-season friendly match followed by title celebration, facing Portsmouth in the Charity Shield and start the season with a match against Newcastle. So i really hope Rooney can get well soon.

However, i’ve just realized that our double silverware celebration last season was covered the Celtic chaotic fans that made the local police hold the title parade and of course by Ronaldo saga whole summer long. But now everything seems so much clearer (minus our several 1st teamer out for various reasons) the new season will soon get started and everyone seems to focus on that. And least but not last, SAF confirmed the Ronaldo saga is over. So, i do think this will be a good time to celebrate our Champions League and Premiere League winners celebration now, not a month ago. Consider the last 4-5 weeks as a holiday for most of the squad until finishing 10 months of busy competitions in high.

Maybe it’s all in the agenda of God. He blesses the Red Devils.

Come on you reds.

champions Thoughts on The Kings of Europe

I was tempted not to post anything after the Champions League win. Soon after the game finished, i browsed around the world wide web, reading all those beautiful coverage of the Kings of Europe. You know, you think you have it ‘enough’.

I watched the game LIVE on TV anyway so i don’t discover anything new, which include:

  1. Chelsea players didn’t feel to lose. Hold on. Yo blues. Do you read the text in the medal you received carefully. Does it written that you were the winners? Hah?.
  2. The haters is already talking about next year. Next year is going to be ours, we’ll beat you blah blah blah. Dude. They think they are the only ones who have next year plans. Yeah see you next year, but now it’s all about Reds.

Dude, the feeling to see the win was fantastic, even though it’s all the same stories. In the last 24 hours, it’s all about Manchester United in about everywhere. World wide web, TV, papers; name it.

However, one of the best thing of having a blog and blog about what i love, is that i am able to use the posts to discover what i do, including my past, present and future feelings. It’s a cool way to remembering the good time and bad times. It’s more likely to be a personal journal, that anyone else in the world with internet connection, can also read. So, i decide to post some of my thoughts.

Here we go. The Final Of Champions League 2007-2008; Manchester United VS Chelsea.

Whatever…

First things first; the bad things.

  1. Important lad that was missing in the cloud of Reds: Ji Sung Park. You’re another unsung hero!
  2. Ronaldo’s statement regarding his future. He’s an egoistic maniac and totally ruin the party. I don’t think he will ever change. He’s the same lad who ask the referee to card Rooney at the World Cup. I bet Tevez will score more goals if he leaves! But, let’s leave it to Sir Alex.
  3. That Ivorian thug, who again had his clashes with Vidic whom successfully kept him under his pocket throughout the game. Drogba, you’re a fucking idiot!
  4. I don’t understand why, when shots that hit the post labeled as ‘unlucky’. Here’s my thought on that. The shots are just not good enough that it don’t end at the goal. So to me it’s not unlucky, it’s not good enough. Period.’

Now the good part. The F***ing Win. Yesss!

Oh man the game was freaking tight. I watch the first goal with pride. You know, it’s good to see Wesley Brown can finally pass the ball ‘right’ on such important occassion, and that boy Ronaldo finished it off with style. His first goal against Chelsea. Several minutes after the goal, Reds find it hard to stop bombing the blue side of the pitch. It was maginificent long pass from Rooney after dispossessing a Chelsea striker passed through the right foot of Ronaldo. He then passed it right to Tevez followed by the awesome move by the big Chelsea goal keeper. However the clearance ball from Chelsea defender was only as far as Carrick that shot and only the great reflect of Cech keep Chelsea stays on the game. Came late at the first half, an equaliser came after Essien shot, which bounces from Vidic and Ferdinand, that lead the ball to unmarked Lampard. Edwin Van Der Sar slipped in the vital moment, another Chelsea ugly goal came, 1-1!

The second half, Chelsea played like a different team. But we have our chances and our defensive players were just wonderful.

The game went to extra time. As always, extra times are just awful for me. It was 20 tired lads running around to chase 1 ball that moves around the pitch. Nervy, as Chelsea have their moments. But again we passed it well. However, Giggsy almost brings us Champions League title early, after super cool run by Evra, but Terry’s super reflect header was awesomely denied the United legend to score his first Champions League final goal.

In the end, after no signs of a winner, penalty shoot out was even worst. I felt like i was going to pee in my pant everytime another Reds took on penalty. However, Ronaldo failed penalty was covered by Terry’s miss. He had the chance for glory, but weirdly enough, the score were back levelled. The next taker was Giggsy. He brought Chech the wrong way. He score. Level! Then there came the decisive moment, when Nicholas ‘the always rejecting Reds’ Anelka step up to the ball, only to be denied our own EDWIN VAN DER SAR.

That’s it. We’re crowned. The Champions of Europe.

Oh yeah you Reds!
