Another Award for Ronaldo
award August 29th, 2008
Ronaldo took home UEFA Club Forward of the Year award (forward??), while John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech won their respective position awards.
Well this is a Manchester United fan blog that always have biases. However i think Lampard was instrumental for bringing Chelsea to 2 runner ups, but John Terry ahead of Ferdinand and Vidic? Cech ahead of Van Der Sar?
Hold on, 2 seasons ago, Ronaldo beaten by Kaka for World Footballer of The Year because he was better than Kaka but his club didn’t win the Champions League (that’s what the pundits said). While last year, John Terry and Cech failed to hold our team taking their Champions League and Premier League dreams away. Am i missing something here?
Lately i kinda feel football pundits (especially in Southeast Asia) are into Chelsea and start to writing off Man Utd (just like last year). But that made end of season wins felt sweeter.
Anyway, congratulations Ronaldo. This post is for you, not for Chelsea players. Sorry for the ramblings.
PFA Award List is Up and There’s no Rooney & Rio
award, other teams, players, stupidity April 12th, 2008
The list 2008’s of Player of The Year Award has been announced and the nominees are:
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Cesc Fabregas
- David James
- Emmanuel Adebayor
- Steven Gerrard
- Fernando Torres
While Ronaldo, Torres and Cesc are also nominated in Young PFA award.
Even though I don’t see in any ways Ronaldo can’t retain last year’s double, what i don’t understand is why Rooney and Rio aren’t on the list. Like last year, I predict Liverpool and Arsenal will end this season without title, and in this award, there are 4 players from both clubs contributing to the list.
Now that is funny.
Player of The Month
award, players November 10th, 2007
Need to say no more, Rooney rocks! From Manchester Evening News:
INJURED United striker Wayne Rooney has been named Barclays Player of the Month with former United ace Mark Hughes taking the manager’s award.Manchester United striker Rooney, 22, scored four goals in just three matches to be named Player of the Month - although he will not get the chance to reclaim his crown after suffering an ankle injury which will keep him out for the rest of November and beyond.
