FA Cup 5th Round Here We Come

fixtures, match results, players January 28th, 2008

Manchester United booked a place in FA Cup 5th round through another hard fought battle as we break into Tottenham Hotspurs’ super tight performance today at Old Trafford. Like always, in the world class football display, individual errors and successes made the game different:

1. Carloz Teves score our first goal. He also got his first goal in English game was against Tottenham on last year dramatic loss when he was at West Ham United.

2. Tottenham’s captain Robbie Keane become the first player who score to Manchester United’s goal in 2008.

3. Dawson’s sloppy defending gave Reds’ a perfectly executed penalty by Ronaldo. He score his 24th goal this season in all competition.

4. Nothing to lose tactical change from Juan Ramos brought Ronaldo score his 25th goal and close the game 3-1 o United.

Anyway, we against the side who murdered Gooners 5-1 last week in Carling Cup’s semi, remember? To be honest, what a relieve for this fan.

I love this game dude. Reds marching on.

Small Thin Line Between Fans and Vandals

Thoughts January 23rd, 2008

This fan has learned that United Chief, David Gill’s, house was vandalized, that triggered by controversial AIG logo placement at Munich’s commemoration that fans complained.

From what i know, there are several ideas that is not ideal if you run a football club as big as Manchester United. Of course reds fans can have love and hate relationship with American club’s owners, and noone will stop the fans to express their feeling about it.

But, this act by vandalizing Gill’s house will never acceptable even in such bad times. It’s a criminal act rather than supporting the club act. They can harm Gill’s family, what if someone do that to your family?

This is disgusting!

Update on other team:
Gooners sinked by city rival Spurs 1-5. You must see those big headed Gooners youngsters’ face after the defeat! They thought they own the world. Ouch. Oh we have to face that brilliant Spurs at home this weekend. Another tough game i suppose.

Ronaldo’s Mom Brought to Spanish TV

conspiracy theory, other teams, stupidity January 22nd, 2008

A quick strange news as regards to Reds:

Ronaldo’s mom spoke on Spanish TV that she wants to see her 22 years old son to play at Real Madrid before she dies. And add to that, she prefer to see Ronaldo play in Spanish club, especially Real Madrid which he describe as ‘the best’.

There are several things come to my mind:
1. Ronaldo still wants to play in Real Madrid. I don’t care, after he finished his contract and if the club is choosing to let him go (which I don’t think will happen soon).
2. She was interviewed under Real Madrid’s dirty tactics to bring the lads to strengthen their lame squad. I mean, why it was covered in Spanish TV?

What makes the moment strange was, why she prefer Ronaldo to play at Real Madrid before she dies rather than at home in any other club in Portugal?

Strange and disgusting. With all due respect to Ronaldo’s family, I think this act was driven by dirty minds at Real Madrid. As a quick reminder, the campaign for their presidency started by a promise to brought Kaka, Fabregas, Robben, RVN and Fabio Capello as the squad’s manager. This promise brought ex club director’s, lawyer Ramon Calderon, as club’s president after a slim win in a chaotic presidential election.

Oh well. In the end of the day, this is just another football politics at the dirtiest level.

Me echoing the club: Ronaldo is playing for Manchester United, not for Real Madrid!

Fernando Torres is Not a Superman

other teams January 20th, 2008

Monday EPL game will be great display as Aston Villa will face Liverpool. Both are good teams (both placed at big 10 on the most famous football league in the world) that actually also great rivals of United. Martin Laursen who has just renew his contract to Villa were shooting a statement to El Torres:

“Let’s not make Torres into Superman. He’s just a player like everyone else.

“He’s a good player but not better than than very many of the other strikers in this country.

Moreover he also laud Ronaldo as the best player he had face on:

“I obviously like Cristiano Ronaldo, if you can call him a striker. He’s got everything and I think he’s the man who is the best.

Eventhough no back players should scare to Torres because in many games he can’t posse ’superman’ threats to defenders (if so then why Liverpool are so points away from the other big 3??), i think Laursen will find a hard game against the Merceyside forward. So good luck.

In the end, who calls Torres superman anyway?

Kevin Keegan is Overrated

other teams, stupidity January 20th, 2008

If he was around at last week’s game when we trashed Newcastle United 6-0 (yes six nil!!), i doubt that we will be able to score that much. Of course, he’s a great football manager and was once a great rival of SAF. But seeing his recent famous ‘comeback’ to black and white side, i do think he is overrated (remember Robbie Fowler comeback to Liverpool? God is back? B.S.! Now they thrown him away!).

The publication is too much, and perhaps they can sell good amount of merchandise and fixture tickets. But i think he talk too much that perhaps the main reason why his side drawn to Bolton at home in Saturday’s EPL late kickoff.

Well King Keegan (mmphh… funny alias though) you don’t have to worry about SAF or Mourinho, just do your best to bring the toons to its glory. Focus on your team, win as many games as you can, the club & the fans need it (your good job comes first, not good talk), because that’s why they pay your salary.

Now you’re talking.

Brilliant Goal and Superb Unsung Heroes

fixtures, other teams, players January 20th, 2008

This fan impression in the end of first half was, “How the hell we haven’t score yet?” As I predicted, we face another tough game. Well. We never face an easy game anyway.

Our team posed non stop dangerous threats throughout the game but find it hard to score until Wayne Rooney finishes Tevez brilliant pass. This is truly a football in the highest level (it wasn’t me, I heard it on tv!).

After the first goal, the game turned as an open game and our opponents responded very very well. Harper, Reading’s tonight unsung hero, almost scores an equalizer. But in the last minute, hard trying boy Ronaldo finally put the ball behind Hanneman’s goal as the Champion finished the game as again top of the table.

In my view, these are the keys from our hard fought win today:
1.    The change of under performed Hargreaves that brings fresh and talented foot Nani in. Hope Hargreaves can find his form again soon.
2.    Our defenders superb display. As always, our back five unsung heroes! Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Brown and Van Der Sar.
3.    Rooney’s brilliant goal. Nuff said. Just brilliant.

In the end, Reading didn’t play bad at all. In fact, they are super stubborn and successfully hold us to score many goals. Much respect and all the best to Reading, ex Reds number 7, Steve Coppell, has done a great job. For sure!

Final result, Manchester United 2 – Reading 0.

Reds marching on.

Thoughts ahead of the Game against Reading

Thoughts January 19th, 2008

In less than 24 hour, we will play against Reading at Madjeski stadium. They have never ever beat United, but history plays small part in modern football in terms of predicting, but can somehow can motivate a great deal on the weaker team (remember when we lost against Bolton?). I’m sure Reading fans won’t warm welcome United and their hero team manager who were once wore United number 7, will giving out all he know tactically on how to beat United.

In team news, i’ve learned that duo Hargreaves & Brown would be back on the team list. This will make SAF relatively easier to put stronger team selection than our last game against Toons. Don’t get me wrong, stronger doesn’t mean that we will crush Reading more than 6 goals deficit because they are of course stronger and way more motivated than last week’s Newcastle managerless players that we can beat six-nil at OT.

Of course this will be a hard weekend for our team, but i am sure that we are able to pass another big test if we can find our rhyme like we always do on our glorious days.  Let’s get the win to stay on top (gooners won’t score enough to close the gap) and continue to march on retaining our title.

Come on. Reds marching on.

El Real is Not Giving Up

If the club said Ronaldo is not for sale then he’s not for sale. I think somebody should teach  that dude Pedrag Mijatovic an English course.

No means no dude!
